Catalina Galdámez served as a co-PI for "Promoting technology for horticulture production as adaptation to climate change in Guatemala," alongside PI Rolando Cifuentes from 2023 to 2024. She is a Salvadoran economist and researcher, with a degree in Economics from Universidad José Simeón Cañas (UCA), and a Master's degree in Economics from National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) -- where she also received her PhD candidacy in Economics in 2023. 

She has worked in the area of economic research from positions in academia and international organizations. Her research interests include value chains and international trade, analysis of economic inequality, women's economic rights, women's economic autonomy and gender mainstreaming in public policies and projects. Her experience has allowed her to lead research that has served as input for the execution of programs implemented at the Central American level, while others have been published in academic journals. She is currently an economic researcher at the Universidad del Valle de Guatemala (UVG), as well as an international consultant.
