Dr. Comfort Freeman is a Senior lecturer in the Department of Agricultural Extension, University of Ghana, Legon. She holds a PhD in Social Sciences from Wageningen University and an MPhil in Agricultural Extension. She has over twenty-one years of research experience in Agricultural Extension and Rural development.

Her areas of research include Development Communication, Gender and Agricultural development and Innovation Systems. She has acquired skills for engaging smallholder farmers, including the use of mixed methods and action research toward problem solving for sustainable agricultural development.  She also has expertise in development and use of training manuals for agricultural extension agents and farmer-based organizations in Ghana. Over the past two years she has supported, trained and mentored youth in agriculture and entrepreneurship as a Faculty advisory team member in the Kosmos Innovation Centre AgriTech Challenge program at the University of Ghana.
