Five more years for the Horticulture Innovation Lab

A new $18.75 million grant from the U.S. Agency for International Development will boost international fruit and vegetable research led by the University of California, Davis, extending the Horticulture Innovation Lab research program for five more years.

In 2014, the program originally called "Horticulture Collaborative Research Support Program (Hort CRSP)" was renamed "Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Horticulture" (Horticulture Innovation Lab, for short).

Horticulture CRSP launches third Regional Center of Innovation

With the launch of a new center in Kenya, the Horticulture Collaborative Research Support Program has successfully opened three centers worldwide dedicated to serving as hubs for horticulture-related activities in nearby developing countries.

Honoring the legacy of Adel Kader — advisor, friend, postharvest leader

Dr. Adel Kader, professor emeritus in the UC Davis Department of Plant Sciences, died Dec. 10 at the age of 71. He joined the UC Davis faculty in 1972 and served the University of California for more than 35 years, continuing to be active after retirement in both postharvest and horticultural development — including serving on Horticulture CRSP's International Advisory Board.
