UC Davis D-Lab
At UC Davis, D-Lab is a suite of courses with a focus on "development through dialogue, design and dissemination." UC Davis D-Lab works in concert with the UC Davis Program for International Energy Technologies to accelerate the development and commercialization of low-cost, clean and efficient energy technologies and solutions in developed and developing countries.
D-Lab originally started as a concept course at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and has since been replicated and adapted for students at multiple universities.
The Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Horticulture has partnered with UC Davis D-Lab in multiple ways, including as a client for feasibility studies and technology adaptation exercises. Horticulture Innovation Lab Regional Centers at Zamorano and Kasetsart University have also worked with UC Davis D-Lab to launch D-Lab courses for local students in Honduras and Thailand.
