RFP: FUNDING FOR NEMATODE CONTROL IN CENTRAL AMERICAThe Horticulture Innovation Lab is seeking pre-proposals for research on nematode control in fruits and vegetables in Guatemala, Honduras, and/or Haiti. Projects will be funded up to a total of $450,000 over three years and must be led by a U.S. university researcher. Find details at: http://bit.ly/20MzfkC
Various nematodes are critical pests of horticultural crops in Central America and the Caribbean, causing smallholder farmers to lose crops or to face quarantine restrictions.
So, the Horticulture Innovation Lab is looking for research project proposals in integrated pest management practices important to, and appropriate for, smallholder farmers in the Feed the Future zones of Guatemala, Honduras, and/or Haiti. The research should result in useful practices and recommendations for smallholder farmers.
We will host an optional Q&A webinar about this funding opportunity at 12 p.m., Pacific Standard Time (PST), on March 7.
